Eligibility:
- Be an arts organization (i.e., 75% of activities are arts-based) not affiliated with a college, university, or governmental entity.
- Have IRS 501(c)3 tax status for the last three consecutive years.
- Have a minimum eligible income of $50,000 in FY2017, FY2018, and FY2019.
- Have at least one paid professional administrative staff on payroll for at least one year.
- Have continuous administration throughout the year.
- Must be an organization based in Greater Greensboro.
- Have NOT been awarded a Multicultural Grassroots Grant in the current calendar year.
- Must have a valid current NC Charitable Solicitation License.
Total Grant Pool: $300,000
Maximum Grant: $30,000
Payment Dates (anticipated): April 1 and June 15, 2021
Review Criteria: The panel review score drives funding decisions.

Describe how COVID-19 has impacted how you serve and engage diverse and traditionally underserved and underrepresented populations. How did the board and staff have responded to the recent racial-equity movement?
Examples:
- Presented offerings inclusively developed for diverse audiences.
- Created and presented offerings telling stories of diversity.
- Developed or working on meaningful partnerships and collaborations to provide equitable opportunities in the arts.
- Developed or developing a strategy to address cultural equity.
Percentage of Score: 15%
Describe the strategic operational decisions your organization has made in the last year to remain solvent. Include as much detail as possible when discussing reductions or increases; you are encouraged to use actual dollar changes. What innovative approaches to operating (such as strategic alliances, shared services, new collaborations, etc.) has your organization made, or is considering?
Examples:
- Made strategic changes to personnel.
- Made strategic changes to expenses.
- Made strategic changes to offerings.
- Developed new partnerships to add capacity or streamline operations.
- Demonstrated a plan or desire to implement innovative approaches to operations.
Percentage of Score: 25%
Describe your organization’s plan for sustainability for 2021. Your response should correspond with your budget and information included in the AG Relief Financial Form Cash Flow with Scenarios Tab (for example, venue operating at 50% capacity in a certain month, venue operating at 70% capacity in a certain month, etc.)
Examples:
- Has positive cash flow through December 2021.
- Has planned a balanced budget or surplus of operating revenues over operating expenses.
- Has a realistic strategic plan for sustainability.

We ask that executive directors make a three-minute video reflecting on the last twelve months, lessons learned, and how the organization has or is changing due to the pandemic and other events in the last year. (Video Upload)
