The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro has announced their 2025 Annual Fund goal of $600,000 with the rallying tagline: Embrace the Arts: THEY MAKE THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE.
From creating jobs and attracting tourism to revitalizing neighborhoods and preserving local stories, the arts are essential. They engage youth, promote inclusion, and spark innovative solutions to today’s challenges. The ACGG’s Annual Fund supports the mission to expand access to the arts, empower local artists and arts organizations, and drive cultural vibrancy throughout the Greater Greensboro area. This impact is powered by the support of our community, including the 135 brand-new donors and the 44 re-engaged donors who came back after a period of lapsed giving during last year’s Annual Fund Campaign. They join the continued donors whose contributions have consistently sustained the mission for decades.
Co-chairs Linda Spitsen and Josephus Thompson III emphasize the importance of this campaign in shaping the community’s future. “Art, in its many forms, provides a foundation for a better life”, reflects Linda. “If we support, prioritize, and embrace art in our community, work, schools, and homes, I believe the benefits will be endless.”
Josephus draws on his own experience as an artist in Greensboro. “Impossible for me was to turn a local open mic into a national brand, but the arts – my art – made it possible”, he shares. “Embrace the arts! They will return the favor!”
