National Folk Festival Announces Call for Food Vendors

For priority consideration, prospective vendors should submit applications by May 18, 2015

Free, 75th-anniversary event—making its first-ever stop in N.C.—will attract approximately 100,000 visitors to see hundreds of performers on seven stages in downtown Greensboro, September 11 – 13, 2015

Greensboro, N.C., April 2, 2015 — Food vendors with experience serving high volumes of customers efficiently are welcome to submit applications to participate in the 2015 National Folk Festival. Projected attendance is 100,000 for the three-day Festival, which is coming to Greensboro for the first time from September 11 – 13, 2015.

In keeping with the National Folk Festival’s overarching focus on the traditional arts, culture, and heritage of North Carolinians and all Americans, the Festival’s foodways will feature a variety of regional and ethnic foods as well as classic festival fare. Local Festival Director Amy Grossmann explains, “With choices to please every palate, our goal is to give festival-goers the opportunity to take a culinary journey around North Carolina, America, and the world.”

Food-vendor applications will be considered in two waves: To receive priority consideration, applications must be postmarked by May 18, 2015. To receive second-tier consideration, applications must be postmarked by June 29, 2015; second-round applications will be considered based on need and availability after priority applications have been reviewed.
