Fiddler Mark O’Connor and his Family Band will launch a new Great American Music Series on Dec. 1 at the new Van Dyke Performance Space in the Greensboro Cultural Center.
The four-concert series results from a partnership between ArtsGreensboro and Wrangler.
It follows in the spirit of the National Folk Festival, which ArtsGreensboro will co-produce for a third year in September 2017, with the performances highlighting music of America and its many traditions.
“The concept for this series is to keep the folk festival front and center through the winter months, presenting acts in the spirit of the festival across a spectrum of styles,” said Tom Philion, president and CEO of ArtsGreensboro.
The series will open with “Appalachian Christmas,” featuring the O’Connor family band. The Van Dyke Performance Space is located on the ground floor of the downtown cultural center, 200 N. Davie St.
Tickets for Appalachian Christmas are $35 for premium reserved seats and $25 for general admission. They are on sale now at http://oconnorchristmas.brownpapertickets.com.
