The Greater Greensboro community invested more than half a million dollars in the future of creativity this year, contributing $554,798.71 to The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro’s 2025–2026 ArtsFund campaign. The total represents a 24% increase over the previous fiscal year.

Beginning July 1, The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro welcomed an exceptional group of business, civic, and creative leaders to its Board of Directors. Together, they will help guide the implementation of Vision 2030, our long-term strategy to strengthen the creative ecosystem across Guilford County.
Strong communities are built by people willing to invest their time, talent, and leadership in something bigger than themselves.

Explore the arts in the heart of GSO: On a summer evening in downtown Greensboro, the pavement still radiates heat and the brick buildings seem to glow. Children weave through the splashpad, laughter carries across the square, and people linger a little longer, letting the night unfold around them.

Most people find it hard to conceive of a plan that won’t come to fruition for decades. Fortunately for Greensboro residents in 2026, the ambitious Downtown Greenway plan has finally reached completion, $54 million and 25 years after its initial vision in 2001.

The Downtown Greenway is designed to move people through the city on a specially-curated 4-mile route. Runners and cyclists are common sights here, but since its groundbreaking, it has evolved into something so much more than simply a path to follow. As a collaborative project between Action Greensboro and the City of Greensboro, the Downtown Greenway serves as an urban artery that seeks to expand economic development and inject creative energy into the neighborhoods it touches.

Arts nonprofits across the region are preparing a wide range of opportunities for young people to learn, explore, and stay engaged through creativity. Research continues to show that arts learning supports problem-solving, confidence, and leadership skills. Locally, teaching artists and educators have seen these outcomes firsthand, with students building both creative and personal confidence through arts experiences.

The history of a neighborhood is the foundation for much of a community’s identity. To strengthen our community and honor its cultural heritage, we must look back at the people and places that shaped our local landscape. At The ACGG, we believe art is a powerful tool for celebrating these narratives, ensuring they are preserved for future generations.

This spring, we are launching the Art and Dialogue Artist Residency. This initiative is made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Greensboro’s creative community is sustained through something both visible and essential: steady financial support that allows creativity to thrive, even when needs unexpectedly shift or opportunities appear overnight. Equally important, it is built through relationships. The artists who create, the organizations that open their doors, the partners who say yes to collaboration, and the neighbors who show up again and again.

Festivals play a vital role in bringing people together, celebrating culture, and strengthening community connections across Guilford County. If your organization produces an arts-based festival that highlights creative expression, music,
