Putting Yourself Out There: Planning For Shows and Residencies

Greensboro mixed-media artist Natalie Schorr shares lessons from exhibiting in local, national and international juried shows and completing multiple artist residencies. Artists will learn how to identify worthwhile opportunities, strengthen submissions, and navigate practical issues including fees, commissions, shipping and insurance.

Building a Creative Life That Looks Like You

Artist, writer and technologist Roxanne Darling leads a candid conversation about building a creative identity that reflects the full range of an artist’s life and practice — and translating that identity into a website and public presence that feels authentic. Presented by The ACGG in partnership with High Point Arts Council and The Art Gallery at Congdon Yards. 

From Zero to Newsletter in Just One Day

Email newsletters are an affordable and effective way for artists to stay connected with audiences, promote events, showcase new work, and increase sales. In this hands-on workshop, arts entrepreneurship educator Cynthia Deis will help you get started with your own professional newsletter. You’ll explore email platforms, newsletter templates, how often to send, ways to build your mailing list, and how to repurpose content for your website or blog. Bring a fully charged laptop — you’ll have time to work on your own newsletter with Cynthia’s support.

  1. Professional Development for Musicians: 
    Seeking workshop proposals that focus on key areas such as business management, marketing, networking, and other skills essential for musicians to thrive in their careers. 
  2. Social Enterprise Professional Development Workshop for Artists: 
    Seeking proposals for workshops that will support artists in building and sustaining social enterprises, with an emphasis on navigating the unique challenges of the creative industry.

The Professional Development Hub for Creatives welcomes individuals in Guilford County with an entrepreneurial mindset. Beginning in March 2024, selected participants can access free, small business workshops and lectures through programs developed in partnership with local organizations committed to educating and empowering entrepreneurs.
