Meet Jordan, Data and File Management Assistant
Greensboro has always been home for me. Growing up here gave me a sense of belonging and a love for community that has shaped so much of who I am today. Like many kids, I had big dreams — I wanted to be a surgeon, so I enrolled in an early college program and finished high school in two years. But as I pushed, I started to experience burnout - My goals were shifting.
That’s when I decided to explore business. My dad, who owned a charter bus company, gave me the chance to intern with him. What started as a way to learn quickly turned into a passion as I fell in love with buses and the transportation industry. I eventually co-founded a premium transportation company with my sister, which taught me the value of adaptability, building relationships, and taking on challenges.
That passion for learning and connecting with others also shaped my relationship with the arts. Growing up, I played the cello, and my sister played the violin, so music was always part of our home. Some of my favorite memories are attending her high school concerts and spending summers at pottery camps at the Cultural Arts Center, where I got to explore my creative side.
One of the biggest influences on my love for the arts was going to Eastern Music Festival concerts when my sister was part of the festival. Sitting in the audience, I remember being mesmerized by the music and the energy of the performers — It sparked a lifelong appreciation for classical music.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found new ways to connect with the arts community. Whether it’s attending events, volunteering, or being part of groups like Vivace Young Professionals, I love how the arts give us space to express ourselves.
Joining The ACGG has been an exciting and meaningful chapter in my journey. One of the things I love most about our organization is how deeply it’s woven into the fabric of our city. It helps bring creative ideas to life and supports the artists who make Greensboro unique. I’ve learned that the arts aren’t just about what happens on the stage or in the gallery — they’re about how we connect, find common ground, and tell our community story.
As part of The ACGG team, I’m currently working on mapping our geographic reach, uncovering how far our influence extends. My goal is to align our mission, vision, and strategic plans with data-driven discoveries that highlight the vibrancy of Greensboro’s arts scene. Being able to connect the arts to measurable outcomes is incredibly rewarding because it shows how the arts truly transform lives and communities.
Outside of work, I stay connected to my city by serving on the Board of Directors for the Greensboro Jaycees and the synerG Council. When I’m not working or volunteering, you can find me wakeboarding at the lake, enjoying a symphony concert, or exploring local restaurants.
