The New Creative Investment initiative uses over $3 million invested by Guilford County and the North Carolina Arts Council through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to build a framework for a more sustainable arts sector in the Greater Greensboro area focusing on organizational sustainability and resiliency.

The New Creative Investment focuses on building a sustainable and robust arts community in four key focus areas:

  1. Organizational support and capacity building for Arts Organizations
  2. Professional Development for Artists
  3. Artist in Schools Residency Program
  4. Arts Across Guilford Campaign

What's Next for Our Local Arts?

The New Creative Investment is currently supported by ARPA funds, which will conclude in December 2026. This initiative has already strengthened Guilford County’s creative sector—stabilizing small arts organizations, expanding opportunities for artists, and connecting communities through shared cultural experiences.

But this is just the beginning. To sustain and grow this work, we’re seeking partners who believe in the power of creativity to shape a more vibrant, inclusive future.

Your voice, advocacy, and investment help keep the arts central to our community’s growth and well-being. Together we can shape the next chapter for Guilford County’s creative ecosystem, defined by collaboration, imagination, and lasting impact.

Creating the Future of Greensboro, Together

We invest in what works—targeted support that helps artists and organizations grow, adapt, and thrive. Your support fuels lasting impact, keeping creativity at the heart of a stronger, more connected community.

Empowering Creativity

Each year, we help local artists and arts organizations reach more than half a million people. But our impact goes beyond visibility—we invest in their growth through funding, training, resources, and connections that strengthen the creative infrastructure of our region.

“This arts council is run on the philosophy that you teach people what they need to know, you encourage them, and then you encourage collaboration…They are giving us the tools as nonprofit artistic directors and managers that we need to operate in a functional, sustainable way that allows us, rather than survive, to thrive.”

“The support of The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro towards my scripted podcast, 'Code of Honor', is invaluable. I am thankful for their interest and belief in my artistic pursuits/expressions. Their steadfast acknowledgment of the importance of the arts in communities makes me honored to be supported by such an esteemed organization.”

“I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you, for inviting us to the show at the Carolina Theater for the children that attend Triad Play Therapeutic After School. …For many of them, it was their first time attending a theater show and seeing their faces light up with excitement and wonder was priceless. Your dedication to providing enriching experiences for the children in our program is truly commendable, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity. It’s through initiatives like yours that we can create lasting memories and inspire a love for the arts in the young minds we serve.”
